Rural self-catering country villa to rent on an old almond and olive farm. A delightful Spanish holiday (vacation) accommodation, near Álora and Cártama, inland from Malaga, Andalusia countryside, Southern Spain. Sleeps 2 - 4 + child, 2 en-suite bedrooms, with a private pool and outdoor hot tub/spa/Jacuzzi. Whilst enjoying privacy and seclusion, remote from civilisation, you are not isolated at all: a 25 minute drive brings you to the local town, 45 minutes to the Costa del Sol and all its attractions and less than an hour to Malaga Airport. Primarily for those wanting to just relax and escape from it all, it is a perfect getaway for walking, rock climbing, painting, photographers, honeymoons, romantic couples, yoga, rambling, geo-caching and bird watching.

Local weather link: Cártama Weather

At 400 m, the weather on Finca Cencerrita is slightly different to the coast.  It is generally 2 or 3 degrees cooler - particularly in the heat of the summer with the cooling mountain breezes we have. We are low enough that our heads are not in the clouds, but high enough that we escape the sea mists that creep up through the valley below.

Apart from July, August and perhaps June, we always recommend you bring something warm and preferably windproof for outside - and slippers for the tiled floors inside.

The breeze in the cooler months can be quite cutting - but there is always somewhere to sit out of it ... and the walkers are positively glad of it!

When to Visit: Cencerrita is rarely stiflingly hot in the summer as at 400m we enjoy the cooling mountain breezes. In the springtime the hills are covered with a multitude of wild flowers and butterflies.  The autumn has cool nights, but normally wonderfully warm days - Even in winter the temperature during the day often reaches 30oC in sheltered corners and the mountains are beautifully green - mid-January to February the hillsides are covered in pink and white almond blossom - amazing! .  In the valley the citrus fruits are ripe in the groves providing additional colour.

ç The nearest we get to snow is the lovely view of the Sierra de las Nieves - the Snowy Mountains - to the west.

Okay, now you've seen the blue skies - now take a look at some of the others! Bad Weather
