Thank you for all your help and for having
this wonderful house. Was not too keen on the twisting drive upwards but
once here, it was well worth it!! My favourite moment was sitting in the hot
tub at night - felt like heaven!!! Love from Alice xxx
A big thank you to you both for a wonderful
week - I shall never forget the view from the front door and the eagles
doing a "fly past". This is an amazing place and we shall take away
happy memories of our family holiday. Philippa.
This was the most relaxing holiday I think
I have ever had! The views are amazing, the sunsets are breathtaking
and the off-roading experience to get here is exhilarating! Just what the
doctor ordered! Thank you again for such a fantastic week. You will
definitely see us again in the future! Chloe xx
As usual, not much room for Dad so to be
brief and to the point "FANTASTIC "We will be back. Mick xxx |

A fantastic
oasis to retreat from the world and do nothing except relax and enjoy the
surrounding scenery - especially from the spa.
If you
want to make it an even more relaxing holiday, use the Cencerrita Taxi to
and from the airport (stopping off for supplies first) and enjoy the
wonderful scenery coming up the mountain. |

The website
is quite right in saying this is the ideal place to get away from it all and
we loved the sense of remoteness, especially in the cool calm of the morning
up on the roof, and in the evening when the stars (including shooting ones!)
seem so much closer and more numerous than at home. The hot tub is a
particularly good place for looking at the sky. The trip to El Chorro was
well worthwhile, especially for those who like looking at griffon vultures,
crag martins etc. The walk along towards the gorge was good and it is also
worth going up to Bobastra for the views and the interesting hydro-electric
lakes. |

After a busy few months at work we really
needed somewhere to relax and unwind. Here we found it!!
We didn't leave the house and poolside in
four days, and left feeling fully recharged.
Thanks to Colleen and Alan for making us
welcome and the guidance here.

Looking for somewhere secluded and remote to celebrate our Silver
Wedding, we couldn’t have chosen a better spot. The house is lovely, the
views magnificent and the hospitality great too. Alan and Colleen, you have
worked wonders in a relatively short time and we intend to tell all our
friends about you and your hideaway in the hills. Our delight at finding
jigsaws to do in the shade by the pool (in spite of a stiff breeze!) and
the magic of soaking in the hot tub after a hard day doing nothing much, all
added to the wonderful feelings of relaxation and peace engendered by La
Cencerrita. It’s definitely a place
to come back to, as no doubt every season uncovers new delights. One
thing is for sure, WE WILL BE BACK!!

There is little I
can add to what has been said previously, but here goes.
First:- The Bad
news: I didn't have to come to La Cencerrita. Last year I stayed in Pizarra
and loved the area. I had an horrific job that was so stressful that I vowed
to return to unwind. In Feb this year I got a new job as a courier in the
City of London, which is far more relaxed (which shows how bad the old job
was!)
The Good News: I
came to La Cencerrita. That's all one needs to say. Belinda Carlisle says
that "Heaven is a place on earth" - well this must be pretty close to it.
For one thing, on a clear night, most of it is visible!
In Brief: Arwen is
the most adorable little brown eyed bundle one could hope to meet, and she
just loves to play stick, and take you for a walk!
The House:
Everything a person could ask for .. + a few 4" grasshoppers weighing about
1 lb each!!!
The Hosts:
Perfect! Always there when you need them, and always willing. Nothing is too
much to ask. (If you are a fan of "The Navy Lark" (radio comedy series
in 1950/60/70's), ask Alan to tell you his stories of docking a ship with
iffy steaming! Pure Leslie Phillips! My mate John (see below) was only here
for a week, but has not stopped texting me since he got back home! He
too loved the place.
I am writing this
on my last night, full of 3 bottles of Cruzcampo (hence the dodgy writing)
and feeling something I have not felt for about 30 years ... "Aw Mum ... I
don't want to go to school in the morning!"
A perfect holiday,
with perfect hosts, in a perfect place. To quote Arnie, as everyone else has
done:- "I'LL BE BACK!!!!" |

Being at lest 20 years since I was last in Spain, I was
slightly apprehensive and not quite sure what to expect - but nothing
prepares you for the view you get from Cencerrita - I think we spent the
first few days outside just staring into the distance. Mind you,
before you even get here the drive up the mountains is an experience in
itself - a little scary but after a while very enjoyable, once you're used
to it. Very uxorious, comfortable and relaxing, just the thing to
take your mind off the day to day drudgery of life back in London. Oh, and
one word of advice ... not advisable to spend a couple of hours in the spa
in 107 degree heat (outside temperature!) with a few cold beers ....
OUCH! ("I love the smell of burning flesh in the morning .. smells like ...
stupidity" - quote from Apocalypse Now - David - see above) |

We have had another lovely holiday at La Cencerrita. And once
again we have enjoyed the peace and tranquillity, the beautiful scenery, the
company of Arwen and the hospitality and helpfulness of Alan and Colleen.
We look forward to returning in 2007. Thanks to you all (Ian and Wendy
too) for making our holiday such an enjoyable one!

Having read the
visitor's books, it's difficult to add to all of the comments. So, thought
I'd just say that ....
- The
weather was miserable; Warm and blue skies
- The
setting is awful; Complete peace and quiet
- The views
were terrible; Just mountains and rolling hills
- La
Cencerrita was a disappointment; Had everything we needed
- The Hot
Tub was so boring; Spent hours in it
- Alan &
Colleen were so grumpy; Oh sorry, that was last year's hol elsewhere
- No
relaxation; Just continual reading, BBQ's and sunbathing
But then again, I
think I'm at the "Grumpy Old Man" stage, so don't take any notice of my
comments. (Actually, it was brilliant - came to chill out and re-charge
after a hectic 12 months - La Cencerrita did the trick PERFECTLY)
Thanks to you both. |

We had heard so much about La Cencerrita and had looked
forward to our visit for some months. Everything we had heard was TRUE and
found the home beautifully appointed and very, very comfortable. All our
wants were more than catered for by Colleen and Alan and we had great fun
with them too. Wonderful meals by the pool, tremendous barbeques and as for
the "hot tub"!! We enjoyed walking but were walked off our feet by Arwen the
Terrible. Trying to dodge her and head off on our own was useless as she
tracked us with ease!! Wonderful hot days and good company: hope we shall
soon be "returning guests". Thank you for a great 10 days. |

Thank you for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. La
Cencerrita is just lovely and the Hot Tub was a joy. Your dedication
and hard work have really paid off. The weather was rather changeable
but we did get some good days and managed to go home with a bit of a tan.
Your willingness to help in any way possible was heart warming as was your
company and we wish you every success for the future. Thanks again,
for a great two weeks. |

What a fantastic,
idyllic place you have created. We have truly fallen in love with "La
Cencerrita".
We've walked
through breathtaking scenery, watched fabulous sunsets, enjoyed the starts
from the hot tub, relaxed watching films from the huge range of DVD's and
videos.
The girls have
enjoyed the freedom and said they wished they could stay another week. Arwen
has been a treasure and we have all so appreciated her company, especially
on our walks.
We have visited El
Chorro and Ronda, totally different, yet both well worth a visit. Just
remember to take your time. Mountain roads!
Alan and Colleen
greeted us like old friends and have been on hand when needed but discreet
the rest of the time.
The weather has
been very kind to us and a welcome break from the dark British winter.
We would like to
return in the near future. Thanks! |

A big thank you to Alan and Colleen for a very enjoyable and
relaxing long weekend. Sliding into the hot, steamy spa under the starlit
night sky with a beer in hand really does something special to the mind.
It was great of get to know Marie and we wish her the very
best of luck in Oz.
Arwen .. Gav found a connection with a dog for the first

After working flat out thru' 2005 we decided to try a "real"
holiday for a change, and we're so glad we chose La Cencerrita! To be
honest, it was the sofa and the glowing references to Alan and Colleen's
hospitality that swung it for us as we browsed the web in early December,
and we're delight that the sofa is as comfy as it looked in the photos, and
that Alan and Colleen have more than lived up to their glowing references!
Thanks so much for your warm welcome, and the delicious tuna pasta salad -
easily the best we've tasted .. can we please have the recipe??! The
weather was amazing for the 1st week in January - 4 glorious cloud free
days, 1 deluge and 1 partly cloudy day. Fortunately the rain came on
our trip to Granada to see La Alhambra, and mostly while we were inside the
palaces! Definitely a 5* trip, despite the weather. We paddled
in the sea at Fuengirola while eating an ice cream on a beautiful sunny day
on Jan 3rd - and were delighted to find an organic supermarket (Bio Natura)
there too, and a great veggie restaurant called Bistro Vegetariana.
Other highlights ... Mijas, griffin vultures at El Chorro and en-route to
Ronda, the views on the drive to Bobastro and Ronda (A366), and the
beautiful plants growing wild - clematis, arisaema, dwarf iris, field
marigolds, cut-leaved lavender, Bermuda Buttercup and lots more! And
all the lovely walking trying out our GPS navigator - what a boon!!
Thanks to Arwen for joining our walks and keeping us company along
the way ... and of course, there's the lovely hot tub ... |
